My story

Biff (affectionately known to us as "Bowie") is a shy but quietly curious 5-year-old grey cat with a little touch of white. He’s been with us for a while now, and though he’s still working on trusting humans, he’s come a long way from his early, more cautious days. He doesn’t allow petting yet, but he did decide a few months ago that sniffing our hands was okay — and that was a huge step. He spends nearly all of his time out in the open now, confidently lounging or watching the world go by from his favorite spots. Biff enjoys long-distance play, especially with a laser pointer or feather wand, and he doesn't hide when guests come over, which tells us he’s brave in his own quiet way. Because Biff is still very much a work in progress, we think the best way for him to meet potential adopters is here in his comfort zone-his foster home. If you do adopt him, expect that a new environment will likely set him back a bit at first — but with time, patience, and respect for his boundaries, Biff has the potential to blossom further. Biff does best with feline company to show him the way. Biff would do well in a quiet home with a cat-savvy adopter who understands that trust can take time — and who celebrates the small victories. He doesn’t ask for much, just a safe space and someone who will give him the time and room he needs to feel safe. In return, you’ll get the rewarding experience of watching a shy soul grow braver each day.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Biff, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
