Read about our adoption process on our website. Jolene is a petite bundle of energy whos always on the move - whether shes trailing her favorite humans like a shadow or diving into playtime with other dogs. Shes curious, confident, and loves exploring new sights, sounds, and objects, turning every day into an adventure. Jolene adores attention, happily accepts treats from anyone offering, and brings a joyful, affectionate presence wherever she goes. Shes the perfect little sidekick for someone looking for a loyal, loving companion.Anything else to add? She's still learning! Very puppy-like. Super curious though and although she cam be cautious at times, shes not shown actual fear.Shes still not sure about car rides but shes doing better every time we take her out!Name: JoleneBreed: Cocker Spaniel mixAge: ~1 yearWeight: ~22lbSex: Female, spayedColour: BlackMedical: Treated for parvo, tested negative Good with men: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with women: Yes, friendly and outgoingGood with kids 0-6: Yes, but has not lived with small childrenGood with kids 7-15: Yes, but has not lived with childrenWhen the dog meets new people, she: Approaches in a neutral manner, Wants affection. She approaches when called and then waits to see what happens first. If its a good interaction, she warms upGood with dogs: Yes, loves being around and playing with other dogsHow does this dog react to meeting new dogs? Very playful and outgoing, Loose body language, Jumpy/overly excited. She can be a little much at first, so I'd recommend slow intros for the other dog What type(s) of dogs does this dog prefer/be best with? We have 2 large Pyrenees, a Aussie that prefers to be left alone, a very energetic bull terrier/heeler, and a senior healer mix. Ranging 55 - 115 lbs. She likes them all but is a little much for the senior. However! The bull terrier/heeler and male Pyrenees are great with rescues and correct behaviors like this. She is very receptive and is able to play with everyone just fine with minimal correction now.Do you suggest this dog has another dog in the home?It would be preferred. She really perked up as soon as she realized we had other dogs and was able to interact with them! Shes learning a lot from them. Good with Cats: Presumed to be good with cats based on cat-test. She wagged her tail and treated the cat like she treats new dogs lol. She didn't show any interest in chasing.Crate training: Enters crate willingly, Settles after some barking/whining. She goes in easily, but doesn't like being left in it. However the amount of time spent whining is going down each day. House training: Working on it - about 50%. She's getting there! She does potty outside, but has accidents inside tooResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: She was afraid of the leash. We used two of our other dogs to teach her so she doesn't mind it now. Just needs to learn leash skills. She pulls but shes small. Energy level: High Areas to work on: Walking nicely on a leash and her approach to other dogs (hoping to have that improve as she interacts with our dogs) and the barking might go down as she adjusts. What type of environments would NOT be suitable for the dog? Apartment/CondoAny noted separation anxiety?Yes, but not any more than any other new foster as they adjust Barker: AverageWhat would be the ideal home for this dog?Someone who can make sure she can run and do something stimulating.
