My story

Mikey is a two-month-old male orange tabby with big ideas and an even bigger personality—clearly destined for greatness as the self-appointed Executive Director of his domain. With his bold orange coat, bright amber eyes, and confident strut, Mikey commands attention the moment he enters a room. He’s a natural-born leader, making quick decisions like which toy to pounce on next or which window offers the best bird-watching views. Always curious, always in charge, Mikey brings a mix of enthusiasm and charm to every task—whether that’s organizing a kitten meeting or inspecting the treat jar inventory.Despite his lofty title, Mikey is all heart. Between zoomie sessions and strategic nap planning, he makes time to check in with his human staff, offering head bumps and loud purrs as encouragement. He’s both spirited and affectionate, balancing playful ambition with moments of surprising tenderness. Whether he’s leading a playtime charge or quietly snoozing in a sunbeam, Mikey shows every sign of growing into a confident, loving companion—and a very effective Executive Director of any home lucky enough to have him.ADOPTION PACKAGE:Thank you for your interest in adopting your next pet from The Haven. Each cat adoption fee of $125 includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, rabies vaccine and tag (age 3 months and up), microchip, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm preventative, testing for feline AIDS, leukemia, and heartworms, a free starter bag of Hills Science Diet, and coupons from area businesses.Please make sure you review the following as part of the adoption process:· Adopter must be 18 years of age or older.· A current government-issued photo ID (no student IDs) - such as a driver`s license, state ID, passport, military ID, etc.· Have a Meet and Greet with the animal and our adoption coordinator (These can be a virtual Meet and Greet session due to COVID-19)· Adopters are responsible for bringing their own travel carrier with them when picking up their new pet.· The Haven accepts cash, check, debit/credit card, or money order.* For adopters of cats and dogs aged 6 months or less, or those with a medical condition preventing immediate spaying or neutering, The Haven requires a signed Spay/Neuter (S/N) Agreement and a $100 cash deposit, refundable upon completion of the spay/neuter procedure.
