My story

London is a 1-year-old female terrier mix with a stunning mahogany-red coat and a smile that lights up the room! This sweet girl is as loving as they come—she adores going on sniffy walks to explore the world around her, but her true favorite activity is cuddling up close with her people and showering them with kisses. London is full of affection and warmth, and her gentle, joyful personality makes her the perfect companion for cozy nights and playful days. She’s truly a sweetheart through and through, ready to bring love and laughter to her forever home! When London arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, she tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like London to go through treatment and recovery is with a loving, committed forever family. If you choose to adopt London, the Anderson clinic team will be with you every step of the way—answering questions, providing guidance, and offering ongoing support. The treatment process typically spans three months and includes some simple at-home care to help keep London safe as she heals. A follow-up test is performed six months after the start of treatment to confirm her recovery. Heartworm treatment is highly effective, and the Anderson staff fully expects London to make a complete recovery. It’s also important to know that Heartworm is only transmitted through mosquitoes and cannot be passed directly from animal to animal. Stop in and meet London in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt London, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
