My story

this sweet 2 yr old heeler is currently fostered in Greeneville Tn. Relinquished to the shelter by her owners, she is now decompressing and will be medically assessed. Very sweet with her foster, we will be posting more pix and info as she unfolds!! Update**For Callie: Callie (Calliope) HERE'S your shorty morty! You want cute? She might just be too cute for you cause she is cuu-uuu-ute for real! This short-legged heeler mix loves attention and is quick to point out changes in your environment. She will let you know when your neighbors get a new car, or if someone rearranged the furniture in the living room. While she is playful and happy to have a little run around, she's also a good snuggle bug. It took a few days to come out of her shell and engage in play for her foster mom and foster siblings. When she has a complaint, she will tell you. She will also show you how happy she is to sit with you (or on you, as the case may be!) She has so much love to give, at times it seems to just overflow from her. She does not like strangers handling her, so in home vet and grooming might be best if possible. Or, at least a vet that will do exams with her human present to hold her might work. She was relinquished after her first humans had to go in a senior care setting. I fear her human(s) went downhill slowly in their ability to care for her, because she came in with a full body skin infection. She is now helaed and happy! Callie prefers women to men. She will need a man in her life that is patient and has the time to wait her out to come out of her shell, but she much prefers women over men. She walks well on lead, gets along with other dogs but does not NEED another dog. She is just one of those independent heelers who wants her own people. She is currently in Florida.She needs a heeler savvy person, preferably one who is retired, and someone who can socialize her out in the world. We are thinking her former owners never had her out much, and she most likely didnt realize other people even existed in the world. She will make a wonderful girl and best friend for the right person who can help her expand her world at her pace.
