He can knock littles over Strangers:Good Training Needs: Crate Trained:Yes Potty Trained:Yes Hey there, I'm Bruce! 🐾 Life wasn’t always kind to me—I was literally kicked out of my home—but I haven’t let that stop me from being the big-hearted, affectionate, playful guy I was always meant to be. I’m about 68 pounds of pure love and goofiness. I love being outside—running around, doing zoomies, and playing fetch (we’re working on the “drop it” part… using two balls helps!). Indoors, I’m pretty low-maintenance. Give me a bone to chew on or let me curl up near your feet while we watch TV, and I’m one happy pup. I’ve got some solid basics down: I know sit, stay, come, and I’m working on “down.” I’m potty trained, walk better with a harness, and I’ll go into my crate when needed, but I don’t really need it—I’m trustworthy in the house. I get along well with other dogs, though I like a little space when I eat (just like most pups!). I should not live with cats. I’ve shown too much interest in chasing them, and it wouldn’t be fair to them or me. A cat-free home is a must. I’m a sweet guy who bonds deeply with my people, and I’d thrive in a home where I’m truly part of the family. I’d love a fenced-in yard to run in, or someone active who enjoys long walks with a loyal buddy. Because of my size, a home with kids 5 and up might be best. At the end of the day, I’m just looking for someone to love, who will love me right back. I’ve got so much to give—and I can’t wait to finally belong somewhere for good. 💙 This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason. If the dog or puppy is not yet fully vetted, we can only consider applications from adopters within an hour's drive or 40 miles of Lemont, IL, due to required vet visits at our partner veterinarians. For fully vetted dogs or puppies, we welcome applications from out-of-state or beyond the 40-mile radius. Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval. Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners. The adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue) Microchip Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine Bordetella vaccine 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease) General wellness care, including deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention Your adoption fee also helps support medical care for other rescue animals, including heartworm treatments, surgeries, and emergency care. Spay/Neuter Policy: We spay/neuter dogs at 16 weeks or older, at the discretion of the rescue and in consultation with our partner veterinarians. While some veterinarians recommend delaying the procedure based on a breed’s projected size, as a rescue, our primary goal is to prevent unwanted litters. Spaying and neutering also provide significant health benefits, including cancer prevention and reducing behavioral issues. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay/neuter for cats and dogs as early as 8–16 weeks.
