Augustus

My story

A volunteer writes:Augustus is the definition of handsome and elegant. He stands out not only by his beauty but also by his friendly demeanor. Augustus is with us because of his owner's declining health. He was found as a kitten and brought joy and love to his family for over a year. Augustus came right away to me as I opened his kennel. He was gentle, a little reserved at first but welcoming, head bunting my hand and even purring at the end of our encounter. He was curious in a nice way of the neighboring cats. A very lovely pet, indeed, one who looks so healthy and so well cared for. Augustus was found to be FeLV+, a condition(that will be discussed by our adoption counselors with potential adopters) that lowers a cat's immunity and might shorten its lifespan. These cats can only live with other FeLV+ felines or of course, be the only pets in an household. This condition is not transmissible to other species. Augustus is so worth your attention and love. He will make a wonderful friend to the new and giving owner willing to offer him a chance at happiness and companionship. Augustus is at the Manhattan Care Center.
