My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, June 14th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered. Adoption Fee: $500The adorable 9 week old Beach Puppies are ready to join your summertime fun!  Rescued with their mama right after they were born, these pups have their SPF (Super Positive Fun) rubbed in, their cooler packed, and are ready to dive into the season with you. Even the lifeguard will turn to follow their cute bunny hops. These pups have been with dogs, cats and children! They are so friendly and socialized. From the foster: 'We were out of town when we received a text asking if we could foster a mama Shepherd and her nine newborn babies, all listed on a shelter’s euthanasia list. It broke our hearts to think their lives would end when they’d just begun, so of course we said YES!  DPS arranged their transport and overnight stay until we could return home. Mama and her tiny pups arrived and settled in, safe at last. They were little love balls, all curled up and nestled into one another. Look at them now! They are cute, silly, playful, smart, and SO loving.  The Beach puppies spend their days together playing, exploring, sleeping and eating. We wake up about 7am and they’re ready to head outside. They have access to the yard all day and run around the grass, test the toys, dogpile for naps, play in the bushes, happily greet visitors, more naps, and free-feed (mixture of kibble + wet food).  Zonk-out time is about 9pm. They sleep well through the night, together in a large pen. No barking. All the pups have been well socialized, visiting businesses, schools, and lots and lots of kids. They’ve been exposed to the hustle and bustle of a busy foster home, plus neighborhood construction, the vacuum, etc.  Their mama is a 50-pound GSD with the most silky soft fur, and she doted on them and raised them well.  We have fostered many great litters before but there’s something extra special about this one - they are a soulful bunch that melt into you.'  Pull up a beach chair and meet the litter: Coming Ashore! When his boat comes in, this  Sailor  wins over all the humans standing at the dock. White toes peek out from his sandals. Sailor’s the guy who always shows up with a wagging tail and perfect beach-day vibes. With his little white-tipped toes and gentle nature, he wins hearts effortlessly. He’s confident but calm, curious without being chaotic—a pup who’ll happily trot beside you on morning strolls or curl up at your feet during quiet evenings. Whether you're headed to the park or just reading on the porch, Sailor will be your loyal first mate. What’s a beach day without sand? Glistening in the sun,  Sandy  is there with you every step of the way, especially in your heart. Sandy is soft, soulful, and absolutely devoted. She's the kind of pup who sits beside you and gently rests her head on your leg, like she's known you forever. Always observing, always listening, she’s your steady companion for life's simple moments—watering the garden, watching the sunrise, or just sharing a quiet afternoon. She’ll never let you feel alone. Use your flippers to  Snorkel  along with this fella’, enjoying the breathtaking views life has to offer.  His siblings love to snuggle into him when he’s resting. This sweet, gentle boy has a heart as big as the ocean. Snorkel is a snuggler through and through—his siblings melt into him during nap time, and he melts just as easily into your arms. He loves to explore the world but does it with thoughtful paws. If you're looking for a best friend to discover life with—walks, parks, or just laying in the grass—Snorkel’s your guy. This gal doesn’t need to make a big  Splash  to get your attention. She gets noticed for being polite and spunky, and her manicured white toes. Don’t let her polite demeanor fool you—Splash has the perfect mix of charm and cheek! She’s playful but respectful, cuddly but curious. She’s the pup who’ll follow you from room to room and quietly ask, “What are we doing next?” Her white-dipped toes may be dainty, but she’s ready to leap into your heart and lap with total joy. After a day at the beach, she’ll plop down on the sand like a  Starfish , soaking up the sun.  Best bunny hops! Starfish is quirky, joyful, and full of sparkle. She has the best bunny hops you've ever seen and seems to bounce through life with a sense of wonder. She’ll delight in shadow-chasing, tail-wagging, and bringing laughter to your day. If you’re looking for a pup to remind you to see the fun in every moment, Starfish is ready to shine in your life. Summer  lovin’s warmth and gentleness will be felt year-round. She loves her siblings and they love her right back. Sweet, steady Summer has the gentleness of an old soul. She’s the one who instinctively comforts her siblings and finds the coziest spot beside you. With her soft eyes and warm heart, she’s all about connection. If you’re someone who enjoys slow mornings, heart-to-heart cuddles, and a furry friend who senses when you need extra love—Summer is the one. Got a little  Sunshine  in your pocket? She might not exactly fit in your pocket but she will brighten up your every day with her spunky personality and light demeanor. This little ray of light lives up to her name. Sunshine is bright, spunky, and always has her tail wagging. She brings joy into any room with her upbeat personality and cheerful spirit. She’s the kind of dog who will make friends at the coffee shop, charm the mail carrier, and turn strangers into smiles. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her love is limitless. Everybody goes  Surf ing!  With his rugged good looks he’s the perfect wingman, riding along on your adventures. With his handsome good looks and go-with-the-flow attitude, Surf is the ultimate sidekick. He’s playful and social but not overwhelming—just the right kind of fun. Surf is the kind of pup you can imagine cruising down the coast with, wind in your hair and his ears flapping in the breeze. Whether you're an adventurer or a homebody, Surf is ready to ride life’s waves right by your side. Beach puppy adopters are welcoming a very special addition to their family.
