My story

SynthiaDo you know the song, Firework, by Katie Perry? `Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?`This is my theme song. I was a stray cat roaming around, trying to find a safe place, when my owner found me and took me home. But not long after, she decided to surrender me to the HSHC. On May 30, I moved into the shelter. I know I am not the only black cat with golden green eyes here, and there might be one that catches your eye before you meet me. But I need someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a cat with little hope of adoption. During my medical evaluation, it was discovered that I am FeLV positive. Feline leukemia is a virus that suppresses my immune system. FeLV is spread to other cats through saliva, bite wounds, and sexual behavior. I must avoid FeLV-negative cats. While no one knows my life expectancy, I will likely have a shortened lifespan. So, I will be checked off many people`s lists of adoptable kitties. However, I am a very sweet-natured and lovable girl, 2-years-old, weighing only 7 pounds, spayed, and housebroken. I am somewhat shy, but with a gentle approach, I warm up quickly. I crave attention and affection, and the interviewer lady (IL) was delighted to spend time with me. She gave me lots of neck rubs, and I gave her headbutts. I need someone to tell me, `Baby, you`re a firework! Come on, show `em what you`re worth. Make `em go, `Awe, awe, awe`, as you shoot across the sky. 7-14-25
