My story

Solo is a sweet, wiggly girl who’s ready to find her forever home! This social pup was found as a stray, but she’s quickly showing everyone at the shelter just how special she is. She greets visitors with a BIG smile, a tail wag, and a gentle sit at the front of her kennel, eager for a walk. Once outside, she behaves well on leash and has even joined our volunteer run team, trotting happily by her vol pals side like a seasoned run bud on her first outing. She seems house-trained, takes treats with the softest mouth, and already knows “sit” like a pro. Solo will happily chase a ball but prefers hanging out with her human and soaking up attention. She’s affectionate, loose-bodied, and absolutely loves pets, giving out gentle kisses as thanks If you’re looking for a happy-go-lucky pup who’s part athlete, part cuddlebug, and all heart, Solo’s your girl. When I approached, she sat down. She was all smiles and wiggles ready to go outside. I gave her a treat before opening the kennel door, she took it gently, & was easy to leash & exit the shelter. LEASH SKILLS: Walks/well on leash, pulls toward squirrels out of excitement - appears house-trained HANDLING: Solo is a social pup. She bouncy and wiggly and I was able to pet her all over her body while she remained loose with a wagging tail. She was interested in a tennis ball and would chase but not retrieve. Solo is more interested in time with her handler. I took her for a 1.5 mile run at the cemetery & she happily trotted along by my side without hesitation. Solo takes treats with the utmost gentleness, she knows sit and waits patiently. Did not want to return to kennel, but with a short step away, a few pets and some kind words of encouragement & pets, she did a great job hopping in on the second try & even gave me a few kisses once inside PLAY: playful with balls and handler TOYS: Interested in tennis balls.
