My story

Jasper is a gorgeous, long-haired orange boy who is friendly and playful. He loves when you spend time playing with him, especially with string toys that he can bat and chase. He’ll show his love by headbutting against you then will express his happiness by either running off to make biscuits or by giving you a nip on the hand. Once he knows you and you read his body language, he’s much less likely to get overstimulated. He’s a great communicator and someone with previous cat experience can easily pick up his body language.Jaster enjoys the occasional cat nip and loves tearing into cat scratchers, both cardboard on the ground and tall ones he can stretch into. He’ll happily play and then make his way over to you and begin purring. Even better is if you’re sitting down so he can lay right by your side. But if you get up he’s likely to rush between your legs to stay by your side. He’s had some trouble in his past when people didn’t respect his needs. Jasper is on a prescription diet to help with some tummy troubles. He hasn’t yet discovered the joys of being brushed so has developed mats in his fur that had to be shaved out. And though he happily lived with another cat before, his last experience with a new cat was unplanned and rushed which made him act out. He’s also got some quirks that are all his own, like his hesitation around open back stairs and a dislike of being picked up.You could be the family for Jasper if you can give him plenty of attention, play with him at least twice a day, continue his tummy-sensitive food, and respect his quirks.Come visit Jasper at his foster home in Ballard!Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information. ** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
