Toby

My story

Toby is not our dog. He is currently with Desert Paws NM Animal Rescue but we wanted to help by sharing his information, hoping to find a loving, forever family. Toby was found chained, in an outdoor makeshift kennel of sorts. He was left behind and forgotten after multiple tragedies struck his family. Neighbors came over periodically with some food and water but he was skin & bones by the time he arrived to Desert Paws. It took time to get him back to normal shape again but he is a very nice dog, very active. He now weighs about 45 lbs. and they guess is about two years of age. Toby is affectionate once he gets to know you and is eager to please. He is an excellent watch dog. He is food motivated so an easy boy to train! Toby does not do well crated as he's had too much trauma being caged and abandoned. He learned how to climb a chain link fence so he will need a home with solid tall fencing.
