Winston

My story

Meet Winston. Winston may be a little reserved at first, but give him a few days, and he'll completely come out of his shell. He is a ball of love and wants nothing more than to cuddle up with you under some blankets or on a heatpad. He has a tail that does not stop, just looking at him is enough to set it off at full speed. Everything is a little new, and scary, for him still, so he will need someone with patience as he learns his surroundings. He is doing great with training on a leash and with house training. He seems fully comfortable in a crate now. He does not currently sleep in a crate, but it does not seem like it would be an issue. He would prefer a dog bed or even your own bed, though. He loves treats. He is happy to share a snack of fruits and veggies with you, but he will keep a respectable distance, and will only beg with his eyes. He loves to play with his foster parents and fur siblings. Toys are new for him, he will pounce at the sound of a squeeky toy but doesn't know what to do after he captures it. And the best, most surprising part is that he rarely barks! He just looks up to see what's happening when the other dogs are barking and lays back down. There really is just something about Winston that you just can't not love. If you are looking for a tiny ball of love, Winston is the guy for you. Winston recently received a dental and had some teeth removed, but he is recovering really well. We would suggest only older children as he is a little protective and growls/nips when he is guarding something or someone. He has never bitten anyone, he only nips in the direction as a warning. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. Going forward we will collect payment when the dog is transferred to the potential new owner and will be held for an agreed upon trial time. Exceptions or extended trial times will be considered on a case by case basis and will depend upon the need or situation.
