My story

*** Peanut Butter Van Gogh (“Peebs”) is in a foster home. ***Peebs #19826: brown/tan tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 4/1/22 Cats: recommend a high-energy friendDogs: unknownChildren: unknown, elementary+ BACKGROUND: Peebs was found by a local rescuer who helps spay and neuter cats who are fending for themselves. When he was taken in, he was a mess! Peebs had cuts and wounds, a fractured tail, and double ear infections. He got the medical care and TLC he needed and healed up nicely, though his ears have permanent scarring that make him a bit higher risk for future infections so they will need monitoring over time.PERSONALITY: Peanut Butter Van Gogh, affectionately known as Peebs, is thought of by his foster as being part Bengal, part Tasmanian Devil, and part couch potato. He is a furry whirlwind with enough energy to power a city! If there’s a feather toy in sight, you’d better believe he’ll be in full-on acrobatic assault: flying through the air, tumbling over furniture, and knocking over all knick-knacks. He can’t stand being cooped up in one room and will get stir crazy faster than you can say “catnip”; he is always on the move for his next adventure… or snack. Peebs loves his food and won’t let you forget a meal. He’s very chatty in general, often vocalizing this thoughts and desires in a lively and expressive manner. But despite having a super-high play drive, Peanut Butter Van Gogh is as soft-hearted as his name suggests: he likes a warm lap and your petting affection to go along with the more stimulating enrichment. His purr is like a tiny engine as he relaxes in blissful lazy companionable contentment.COMPATIBILITY: The resident cat in his foster home didn’t appreciate Peebs and we haven’t yet seen him in this dynamic, but we think it would be ideal if he can pair up with a feline playmate is also high energy, preferably a female. He will need LOTS of stimulating enrichment and playtime with his people. We don’t know his thoughts on dogs. Peebs has not met any children while in our care; he can be a little unsure with unexpected noises or sudden movements, though, so we think elementary-aged kids and up who are keen to bring out the feather wands would be best. Battle-scarred though he may be, Peebs has a vibrant and loving personality that will keep you smiling every day! Will you give this sweetie the happy home he craves?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peanut Butter Van Gogh (*Peebs, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
