My story

Do you love pugs and all the chaotic energy they bring into your life? Brooklyn is here and ready to find her next home and hoomans! Brooklyn is a dog that will need to go home with humans who have air conditioning on demand and will work with Brooklyn with her nerves she gets when she is in the car. Brooklyn has a voice and she likes to make sure she is heard! Brooklyn loves to bounce around and wrestle with her toys and likes to run around the backyard on nice cool days, on hot days she prefers (and really needs) to stay in the house lounging with her toys and people with a nice movie on TV. Does Brooklyn sound like your new best friend? She thinks so! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
