Purrito and his sister Bonnie were born in a quiet corner of a once-vibrant neighborhood—one where neighbors still waved from porches and took turns feeding a beloved colony of stray cats. Life was simple and safe. The cats were family, even if they didn’t live inside. But all that changed when the city condemned the land. The houses were emptied. The people were forced out. And the cats—Purrito among them—were left behind, confused and vulnerable in a place that was no longer safe. Even as a kitten, Purrito stepped up. When Bonnie was scared, he pressed against her side. When food was scarce, he let her eat first. He was always the calm in the storm, the soft purr of reassurance in a world that had turned upside down. His name? It came from the way he’d wrap himself tightly into blankets at the rescue—like a little feline burrito, safe and warm. But it's also a perfect reflection of who he is: gentle, comforting, and endlessly endearing. Purrito is the kind of cat who leans into your touch, closes his eyes, and purrs like he’s never been happier. He loves being swaddled in cozy throws, snoozing in sunbeams, and quietly watching the world go by from a windowsill perch. He’s not loud. He doesn’t demand.
