Meet Miss Myrtle Boots Cowgirl! Her name is inspired by her fabulous cow print coat. She is a gorgeous, goofy, girl who loves to run and is always looking to be where the fun is at! We believe that Myrtle is a pittie mix who is about 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. We just call her our Texas Special, the very best breed! Check out Miss Myrtle in all her spunky glory here: https://youtu.be/VxFu6yFyQR0 Gosh, where do I begin with Myrtle? She was such a fun pup to spend time with! I think the thing I appreciated the most about Myrtle is that she can get super playful and run around faster than a cheetah. But she can also activate chill mode and dive on the carpet to rest just as easily! She would be great in a home with a yard over an apartment because of her love for gliding across the grass! She is super playful, very friendly, and very excited to meet new people and pups! Speaking of playfulness, Myrtle is so good around other dogs! When we introduced her to some of the dogs at Rustic, she effortlessly acclimated to each of the dogs' various personalities and wanted to do the same thing with each pup, run and play! She was so good at meeting new dogs on leash and allowed each one to inspect her with no issues. She would be great in a home with another dog who has medium energy and would enjoy spending time playing chase as much as they enjoyed napping. Myrtle also loves kids! When she met Elijah (11) her tail wouldn’t stop wagging and she kept leaning in for more affection. She is such a social butterfly! We consider her to be kid friendly and would do best in a home with older children who could handle Myrtle’s affection and kisses! She hasn’t been around any cats, but if you have a home that has a cat in it, feel free to let us know and we can see how she does in the presence of a feline. We want to make sure she is the best for your family! Myrtle is like the definition of a good dog. She loves people. She loves other dogs. She loves kids. And she loves to play! She is a catch! I definitely see her thriving in a home with a family who is ready to invest the love she so desperately deserves. She will definitely give you all of the love plus more in return! Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
