My story

If you are looking for a tiny queen with a spunky personality and amazing agility skills, then look no further than our bitty friend, Bambi! We believe Bambi is a chihuahua mix who is 5 years old and approximately 25 pounds. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. She’s a certified Texas Special, a mix of random breeds that created the best dog! Rescue is the best breed! Watch Bambi in action in here: https://youtu.be/flyBHlO0g0U So one thing about Bambi is that she is QUEEN B. She likes all the love and affection to go straight to her. Belly rubs? Hers. Ear scratches? Hers. Treats? All hers! Due to Bambi’s particular preferences, it’s best if she is a solo dog. She is ready to receive and reciprocate all of the love to her owner. But what’s cool about Bambi is how quick she is at learning tricks! The behavior team believes that she would make an excellent dog to train for trick sports and other cool games! You will see in her video how good she is at going after toys! Bambi also did great when she met some cats on the property! She wanted to sniff them and tried to initiate play, lol. If she were to be in a home with a cat, it would definitely need to be a dog savvy feline who doesn’t mind the occasional puppy sniffs! She is a smaller girl who would do well in an apartment or house setting. But it’s important to note that when you offer her treats, she does say “please” in a loud way. So if you are in an apartment, thicker walls or cool neighbors would be best. She hasn’t been around small children but she has been fine around teens! We believe she would do well in a home with dog savvy older children who would enjoy spending time playing fetch and other games with her! Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there!
