My story

Hi, I'm Dominica! My foster family call me Nica, I think because it rhymes with Rica, who's my sister. We both came to live with our new foster family about three days ago, and I have to say Rica and I were a little scared at first. You see, we had been living in a backyard and hadn't been around people much, so weren't sure what to think of these big things and being inside the house with them. But we figured out a few things pretty darn fast: 1). We LOVE to kiss and lick our peeps hands and faces; 2) getting scratched and petted behind the ears and on our bellies is a REALLY good thing; and 3) there is not much that's better than lying on the couch snuggled up against our people's leg or in their lap! Hey, turns out that the right people ROCK!!!! While humans rock, their dogs rock too!! I love trying to get them to play with me. Even though they are a lot bigger than I am, it's fun to play "big dog, little dog" and tease them with my speed, agility, licking and cuteness. And as far as playing with Rica or other little dogs like me? I can go ALL...DAY....LONG. And don't get me started about how much I like my toys, especially trying to get whichever one Rica is playing with away from her, as it's my favorite at that moment, of course! Oh, and I must brag a little...we're pups and only a few days in with our foster crew, but so far not a single potty accident in the house, and both Rica and I sleep great throughout the night. Not a peep...until we hear our people get up and it's time to start our next great day! I'm about five months old and weigh 11 pounds, so I fit perfectly in your lap, not to mention your heart. I'm a happy, happy girl, and curious about everything and everyone. I can't wait to find my forever family and shower them with kisses, hugs and being the good, good girl that I am. If you'd like to meet me or my sister Rica, please apply at HeroRescue.org. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dominica, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
