My story

Essie – The Confident & Chatty Velcro Cat!  If you're looking for a lap cat, look no further! Essie is a stunning tuxedo girl (or as we like to say, cow kitty ) with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Outgoing, affectionate, and talkative, she’s the kind of cat who chirps hello to you, follows you from room to room, and settles into your lap the second you sit down. Essie is the ultimate velcro cat—always close by, always purring, always ready to tell you about her day. Essie came from the streets of Chicago, where she was rescued while pregnant and in distress. After laboring for THREE days and undergoing an emergency C-section, she was finally done giving birth to her three kittens and she settled into her foster home with another mama cat named Patches.  These two brave moms supported each other through healing and co-parenting, raising their kittens side by side in one shared, loving nest. Although she doesn’t need to be adopted with Patches, she would be thrilled to stay with her— Essie brings Patches so much comfort, and their bond is truly heartwarming. Essie would thrive in nearly any home, including one with respectful children or other pets (given a proper introduction). She’s laid-back and easy going so she'd be happy in any situation as long as there's plenty of love to go around. Essie loves to play with other cats so she would definitely appreciate another kitty friend in her future home! However, her main love is people, so she would be happy as a solo cat as long as she's in a home where people are around often to socialize with her - like someone who works from home or is retired.   Essie loves to play and is a total toy enthusiast with impressive acrobatic skills. She is a skilled hunter! She will carry her toy mouse around and chirp at you to show you her "kill". She also loves to tear stuffed toys apart and chew on them...sometimes we wonder if she's really a dog in disguise!  Essie's best quality is her affectionate nature. She is a truly wonderful, cuddly kitty with a unique, loving personality. Her foster mom will miss her so much!
