My story

Copper - two year old Yellow Lab - is smart, sensitive, affectionate and very sweet.  He is also athletic and high energy yet still thoughtful.  He likes to be near his person at all times and he shows signs of worry at being left alone (some barking) but seems to settle quite quickly,  He is cautious with new people but will  warm up to them.   In the house, he is housebroken, non destructive, calm, quiet and generally well mannered.  He likes to snuggle up on the sofa or nap quietly on a dog bed nearby.  He is very comfortable with physical contact and handling.   His good manners are evident outside the house as well with one exception.  Leash walking is a work in process and will require gentle, patient guidance.  He has been curious and friendly meeting both horses and cats, as long as the cats don't move - then his chase instinct kicks in. He was good travelling with other dogs when I met him and sat calmly in the car on our drive home.   Copper would do well in a quiet home with someone around more than not, with someone who is attuned to his sensitive nature and where his intelligence , energy and athleticism is given constructive outlets.June 11, 2025, 8:42 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Copper, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
