My story

Meet Gwen – our joyful, high-energy sweetheart with a big brain and an even bigger heart! This 10-month-old, 44-pound Mixed Breed is full of life and love, and she’s ready to find her perfect match. Gwen spent some time in a foster home, and we learned just how smart she really is. In a short time, she’s mastered sit, place, focus, spin, and she’s working on heel. She’s incredibly food- and toy-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding for both of you! Gwen is best suited for an active home – she’d make an amazing running or hiking buddy. She plays hard and loves to romp with other high-energy dogs who enjoy her enthusiastic play style. She gets along fine with lower-energy dogs too, though they may not fully appreciate her rough and tumble play style! She’s got a silly side, too – tug-of-war, games of keep away, and showing off her toys are some of her favorite ways to pass the time. But once she’s had her fun, Gwen’s affectionate side shines through. She’s got a cuddly streak and loves to snuggle up with her people when she can finally sit still. Ready to give Gwen the loving, playful home she deserves? Apply to meet her! Her adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents (if 4 months or older). Gwen has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
