My story

Idgie is a 2 year old female Hound mix whose shy, puppy-like charm is impossible to resist! When first taken out of her cage, she is a bit unsure about the loud shelter environment, and she often moves through the kennel area with her tail tucked due to all the noise and commotion. And then, like magic, once Idgie gets to the park, her personality begins to shine. She transforms into a sweet, joyful companion, her tail wagging, eyes full of affection, and her playful energy on full display as she romps around with her toys like a puppy. Idgie loves to explore, enjoys her leash walks, and already has great leash manners. She greets other dogs gently through the fence, often lowering herself in a cute bow and tucking her tail in a show of friendly submission. It’s so cute to see her playful side come out too … watching her run alongside a canine friend on the other side of the fence is a heartwarming sight. Idgie has also shown no reaction to the feral cats she encounters, calmly going nose to nose through the fence, suggesting that she may be cat-friendly. More than anything, this beautiful girl would love to be in a loving home where she can thrive and be treasured for the sweet soul she is. Could that home be yours? The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm.
