My story

A28310 Vadar is a black colored, approximately 10-month-old, 12-pound, neutered male, Domestic Short-Haired cat. He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 06-02-2025 due to the fact he had too many pets. Vadar is a friendly, but timid and shy boy here at the shelter. He is still trying to understand this shelter environment and why he is here. He currently hides behind the litterbox, looking for that safe place. The loud noises in the shelter cause him to freeze, probably hoping he could disappear. He will need a patient new owner who will give him love and the time to decompress. He was tense while being carried and you can tell he is new here and still unsure. Our staff says that after they spent some time with him, he would lean into neck and head rubs. It just takes some time and going slow for him to make him comfortable with you. We would recommend a nice quiet home. In the playroom he cautiously explored and sniffed everything. But ultimately, he hid in a safe cubby trying to hide from the world. The previous owner says he is litterbox trained and has lived with both dogs and cats, but not children. Vadar will be a loyal, loving family member in his new forever home.
