My story

Meet Liesel 13 years old | 62 pounds | Gentle SoulLiesel’s story breaks our hearts—but we’re determined to make sure it has a beautiful ending. This sweet senior girl was found wandering after a storm, soaking wet and bumping into things. She’s mostly blind and was clearly terrified, alone in a world she could barely see. We were hopeful when we found a chip, but sadly, both contacts disclaimed her. We like to think karma is already taking care of that part.Despite it all, Liesel remains gentle and non-aggressive—just scared and confused in the noisy rescue environment. But here’s the good news: she had senior bloodwork done and got the all-clear from the vet! She’s also heartworm negative and ready for a new chapter.Liesel deserves a quiet, comfy place to rest her head, where she can finally feel safe, warm, and deeply loved. We don’t know what her life was like before she came to us, but we do know she deserves the very best from here on out.If you have room in your heart and home for a gentle old soul, Liesel is ready to love you with everything she has left. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
