My story

Animal Profile: Duke is an estimated 10 week old male, Doberman mixed puppy joining us from Texas on Monday, 6/09. Duke and his siblings have been in a Texas foster home since 4/29 after being found in a box by a local business owner. They are healthy and happy waiting for their ride to the PNW. Foster Update:  Duke is a confident, playful, and adventurous puppy who has an undeniable zest for life. He is happy to try things repeatedly until he succeeds, and will bravely conquer all the new things that come his way. He already happily trots around the block on leash with our small resident dog. He is an active pup, but can occupy himself with lots of toys, chews, and snooping. He would love an adopter who is as active and adventurous as he is. He loves dogs (even the grumpy pomchi in his foster home) and humans alike — really anyone who will play with him. He learns quickly! He is doing really well with crate training -- if you are home he settles quickly, if you leave he cries for a bit then settles. Potty training is a work in progress, but with routine and frequent potty breaks he is doing really well. Like most puppies, he still explores the world with his teeth, and needs continued training on what he is and isn’t allowed to bite.  Duke will need a family familiar with working breeds that are committed to proper socialization and providing training from an early age. True to the Doberman breed, these dogs will be family oriented, incredibly smart, and athletic. Adopter Profile: Working breed dog experience preferred. Doberman experience a plus.  No first time dog owners. Securely fenced yard preferred. Single family residence required (no apartments).  A playful dog in the home would be great, but a home without a dog would be okay as long as you have plans for socialization.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued in partnership with Animal Advocacy in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care via Paws Up Rescue on 6/09. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.June 15, 2025, 9:47 pm
