My story

Hi, I’m Auburn. I’m a quiet, gentle soul who’s been through a lot—and I’m still learning how to feel safe in this big, noisy world. I came into rescue with three tiny kittens, and while I was a loving mama, I was also very scared. People have been kind to me, but I haven’t always had the chance to build trust slowly and steadily the way I need to.I’m currently at the shelter, and the staff here is working patiently with me, giving me gabapentin to help take the edge off, and showing me that humans can be safe, calm, and predictable.I’m not a lap cat (yet), and I might take a while to feel at home—but if you’re the kind of person who understands that love sometimes looks like quiet presence and soft eyes from across the room, I could be your girl. I just need a peaceful space, a little time, and someone who believes that even the shy ones deserve a chance.
