My story

Meet Mickey! Mickey came to us under heartbreaking circumstances—after his previous shelter was destroyed and his beloved owner passed away. Despite everything he's been through, this sweet boy is full of love and hope. Mickey is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm and has already bravely completed his first month. His journey will take about a year, and while he’s handling it like a champ, shelter life can be a lonely place during such a long recovery. That's why we're hoping someone will open their heart and home to him—either through foster or adoption. He’s a gentle, affectionate soul who wears his heart on his paw. New places and faces can make him a little shy, so his go-to move is to crawl around until he feels safe. It’s his way of being brave, and we think it just makes him even more endearing.
