Cricket is a perfectly petite and sweet thing who doesn’t know a stranger, has a gentle playful presence, and is the perfect tag-along girl for any adventure! Take a look at her Get-To-Know Cricket video to see all of her perfection in action then come back to read more. https://youtu.be/RgEpKhwZ-mw Cricket has been described as a perfect companion by everyone who’s spent time with her. She’s calm yet playful, people-loving, and absolutely adores kids. Cricket is the kind of dog that greets you at the door with her tail wagging, glowing with love, and ready to be the best part of your day. If you’re looking for a family dog, Cricket is the perfect fit—gentle and patient with little ones, lighting up at their hugs, sharing toys, and giving sweet kisses like a dream dog brought to life. Cricket is estimated to be right around 1 year old, weighs about 38 pounds, and is likely a lab/pittie mix. While we can’t guarantee her exact breed or precise age, we can promise she’s 100% lovable and ready to be your best girl! Cricket is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home while she waits for her adoption day. This is an important detail for the dogs comfort and experience while also giving us a front row seat to her at-home personality. Cricket lives with a wide variety of dogs ranging from small to large and young to old, getting along wonderfully with them all and giving her a wonderful start as a well rounded doggie playmate. At home Cricket is perfectly playful without being pushy, understanding that her foster cannot always play, which is when she is happy to lay on her bed with a toy or snooze away, or join in play with a doggie friend. A major element of considering a dog fostered in a home is they have been able to learn the key details of being a good house dog, one of the biggest being house trained. Cricket is fully house trained and her foster shared that after giving her a tour of the appropriate potty places she did not have any accidents in the house. Cricket’s friendly nature extends to dogs just as much as people. When we introduced Cricket to a handful of new dogs she showed a little shyness in the first moment, followed by a very polite, gentle invite to play. Not every dog she met was interested in playing and she was great at reading and respecting that. Once she made a connection with a dog it was all fun with her showing us her love for a good round of bouncy play, hence the name -Cricket. Cricket thrives in the company of a playful dog friend but could also do well as a solo pup with plenty of love and activity. The ideal home for Cricket would be a family or a social individual/couple. Cricket is people-oriented and craves affection, she is a lover and would be happiest with people to spread her love around to. Whether its with kids, neighbors, family or friends, if you have an open door policy Cricket is in full-support and will be there to greet them with love. Given she is an older puppy she will benefit from continued socializing and training but she has a great base built. Her dream would be a life with a playful doggie companion and a home with a yard. Well, it would be amazing but isn’t needed. Walks, social get togethers, and occasional visits to a local doggie-day-care will fulfill her if solo-dog or apartment life is the case. Cricket is a perfectly petite, silly, loving, and enthusiastic pup who’s ready to bring so much happy-go-lucky fun to life. With her playful spirit and affectionate heart, she’s the perfect blend of fun-loving and loyal. Petite in size but big on love! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
