My story

Hi, my name is Iris. I came to Big Dog Ranch after some unfortunate events. My first family had to move to a place where they couldn't take me, so I went to stay with relatives until they sadly had to surrender me due to similar circumstances. I arrived wary and uncertain in this new place, not knowing what my future had in store. But I've been learning that I'm safe here, and I'm figuring out that the people here just want to be friends with me. Since I'm a tad shy on introductions, I would do best in a calm home where everyone understands and respects my boundaries so that I can adjust in peace. I spent a long time in a home, you see, and big changes like this are hard on senior dogs. I will blossom under the guidance of a gentle hand who will give me a little space and spend plenty of quiet time with me. I'm an older miss after all, and I'm looking for a cozy spot to nap. This would make me a perfect match for companions who are seniors like me. If you show me some love and kindness, I'll warm up to you and show you what a nice dog I can be. I'll also understand what it means to be in a home, so I will keep clean and find the coziest spot to hang out. I promise I'll be very sweet to you if you just take a chance on me.
