đ¶ đ THOR Male Border collie mix approximately 4 years, 46 lbs & AVAILABLE â check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ đ đ¶ Say hello to THOR, who is the polar opposite of the God of Thunder! Four-year-old, 46 pound Thor is the epitome of kindness and gentleness with people and dogs alike. Our Thor is a cuddler! Even at the all-women vet practice, he felt right at home, giving kisses to all the ladies. He absolutely loves women and girls. THOR is very eager to please and wants to do the right thing. He learned the âsitâ command right away when he joined his foster family; heâs learning âwaitâ and âdown.â He is light on the leash and doesnât pull. Thorâs recall to his foster mom is great; he turns on a dime and runs right to her. He even likes to join her on her morning runs. Thor loves treats and is motivated by both treats and toys, which will make his continued training much easier and more fun for his new family. THOR is perfect with other dogs. He likes to meet other dogs and visits nicely with every dog he meets. He loves to play Frisbee with the other dogs in his foster family. His version is âcatch and grabâ; heâs still learning to bring the Frisbee back. While Thorâs foster family doesnât have cats, there are cats that visit the property, and Thor doesnât react to them or to the chickens that live in a run on the property, or to deer and squirrels in the area. THOR is low-key for a border collie. He is quiet rather than âborder collie busyâ in the house. He knows how to go out the doggy door; he is still learning how to come back in the same way. He eats in his crate but doesnât yet accept spending time in the crate. Thor sleeps in his doggy bed in his foster familyâs bedroom (and enjoys cuddles before bed). He doesnât have accidents in the house and doesnât mark, but he âs still learning how to ask to go outside. Thor gets anxious in the car and will need his new family to continue helping him relax on car rides. THOR is hesitant around men. While he is not opposed to going up to men and letting men pet him when he is out in public, he is just not sure or easily trusting. That said, he never reacts badly; he is simply unsure, even around his loving foster dad. He wants to be 100% trusting with him, but thatâs still a work-in-progress. Thorâs ideal home would be with a woman or girl and maybe one other dog, so he could receive all the attention he so richly deserves. If youâre looking for a lovely, low-key companion, who will devote himself to you, sharing walks, runs, and play; who will settle down quietly in the evening; and who will enjoy learning new things and having new experiences with you, then THOR might be your new bestie. THOR is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about THOR, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. THOR is fostering in Shingle Springs in El Dorado County, CA.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt THOR, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
