My story

Meet Coco – Your Sweet, Stormy-Skied Snugglebug 🌩️🍫🐾 Coco is a beautiful 5–6-year-old chocolate Labrador with a heart as rich and warm as her name. She came into our care in mid-May after being surrendered due to separation and storm anxiety—but don’t let that fool you. Since then, she’s made incredible strides and continues to amaze us every day! Coco is currently on a low-dose daily anti-depressant, but it doesn’t dim her sweet, affectionate personality one bit. She’s the ultimate lovebug who just wants to be near her people. She thrives best in a home where she won’t be left alone for long—ideally with an owner who works from home, is retired, or can bring her to work (she’s a perfect coworker!). Coco also does well with other confident dogs and enjoys the company of cats—and yes, even snakes! She's gentle, respectful, and not at all destructive when left alone, so crating and heavy meds aren't necessary in her current setup. While Coco does have storm anxiety, she’s on a solid medication protocol that’s helped her manage it beautifully. She also has a healing facial wound from a prior accident, but it’s nearly fully recovered and the hair is growing back in nicely. She’s up to date on all vaccinations, recently had normal bloodwork and a clean fecal test—healthy and ready for her forever home! Coco is a truly special girl who deserves a patient, loving home that can give her the stability and companionship she craves.
