He’s a handsome guy with dark eyeliner and stunning markings, who is currently seeking either a foster or furever home. This sweet and very affectionate adult pup is good with other dogs, and has a loving, people-oriented personality that makes him an absolute joy to be around. Cheech will thrive in a home where his human(s) is present more often than not, as he always wants to be close to his favorite people and will happily climb into laps seeking affection and cuddles! With his higher energy level, Cheech enjoys staying active, and is learning the ropes of leash walking - he's already shown great progress on walks, especially when there are frequent stops for pets and attention! He’d love a 5-foot fenced yard where he can burn some energy and enjoy the fresh air. Unlike most Pyrs, Cheech rarely barks, making him a considerate companion. If you're looking for a devoted, affectionate dog who will shower you with love and wants nothing more than to be by your side, Cheech could be the pyrfect match for you! National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. June 13, 2025, 4:56 pm
