My story

Meet Shortcake, a 1.5-year-old Maltese mix with a heart as sweet as his name. This spunky little guy is full of personality and always ready for his next adventure. Whether it’s exploring the neighborhood on a walk or basking in the sunshine, Shortcake thrives on outdoor time with his people. But don’t let his adventurous side fool you—he’s also a professional cuddler who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch after a day of fun.Shortcake gets along well with other dogs but prefers those who are small and calm like himself. We’re not sure how he feels about cats just yet, but with slow, proper introductions, we think he’d likely do just fine.Because of his coat type, Shortcake will need a home that’s familiar with the grooming needs of the Maltese breed or similar breeds. Regular brushing at home and consistent visits to the groomer are a must to keep him looking and feeling his best.Shortcake is ready to bring joy, energy, and lots of snuggles to a loving home. If you`re looking for a small dog with a big personality and a heart full of love, Shortcake might be your perfect match.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $200
