My story

If you’re looking for a companion that will stand by you in good times and bad times, come and meet Mary Chuy. She is a beautiful blue eyed 6 yr-old 37 lbs Alaskan husky that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 6/19 as a stray. She was very happy to get out and stretch her legs. She spent time exploring the yard with her nose. After that, she came back and hung out with me. I was sitting down, and she came to me without even being called. She was very patient while I brushed her. She appeared to know that I was helping her by thinning out her winter coat. Huskies do need frequent brushings. She sits for treats and takes them very gently. She’s very gentle, well mannered, easy-going, sweet natured, affectionate, friendly and alert. She walked okay on a leash. She was not interested in meeting other dogs. She did do her business in the yard. One trait of huskies is that they like to run. So Mary Chuy will need a tall secure fence. She would like a yard to stretch her legs in but would like to spend most of our enjoying her family in the house.
