My story

Tempy is such a cute little torbie kitten who is full of energy and is very inquisitive. It took a couple of weeks before Tempy would trust her Foster mom, but now she seeks out pets and will curl up on a lap for a long nap. She finds the shower fascinating but has managed to avoid falling into the water. Tempy and her brother, Sealy love to tussle and spend a lot of time trying to convince house kitty, Coco, to be their friend. Coco has so far rejected their advances. Tempy tested positive for FIV on her initial combo test. A positive FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test result in kittens does not necessarily mean the kitten is truly infected. Kittens born to FIV-positive mothers may carry maternal antibodies for up to 6 months, which can result in a false positive on the initial test. These antibodies do not mean the kitten has the virus—they are simply a temporary immune response passed from the mother. Most FIV-positive kittens will test negative when retested after 6 months of age. For this reason, an initial positive FIV test should be confirmed with follow-up testing at an appropriate age. Tempy will be a wonderful addition to a family willing to give her time to adjust.
