My story

Approximate DOB: 12/28/2024 Approximate Weight: 9lbs as of 6/16 Meet Fenrys! Fenrys is a fluffy bundle of love who has traded his early shyness for full-time lap dog status. When he first arrived in foster care, he was a little unsure, but he has since blossomed into a loving shadow who follows his human everywhere and soaks up all the affection he can get. He warms up to people quickly and is a bit shy when meeting new dogs, though he has made great progress and become good friends with the resident pups in his foster home. Fenrys enjoys a good game of fetch and will often bring the stick back, especially when he’s feeling playful. When he's not playing, you can usually find him curled up in a lap, perfectly content just to be close. Fenrys is progressing well with house training and enjoys a lamb or beef-based diet. He has shown no aggression toward the resident cats and would likely do just fine in a home with feline friends. He occasionally tells his brother Dorian that he is NOT interested in sharing his food but has shown no other signs of resource guarding towards his foster humans or other dogs. With his huge heart, adorable fluffy little body, and sweet personality Fenrys is ready to become someone’s constant companion and cuddle buddy. Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, Saturdays 11am - 3pm and Sunday 11am - 1pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
