My story

Meet Louie!This 6-year-old small mixed breed is a calm, easygoing guy who’s happy to be part of the pack—but doesn’t need to be the center of attention. Louie is dog-friendly and gives a friendly tail wag when meeting new canine pals. While he isn’t one to snuggle or play with other dogs, he enjoys their company from a respectful distance. Louie is low-maintenance when it comes to exercise. He likes to take his time exploring the yard and is content with a laid-back lifestyle. One of his favorite pastimes is relaxing with a Nylabone. Louie came to us heartworm positive and also showed some heart and liver concerns. He has completed heartworm treatment and is now on a few supportive supplements for his heart and liver, as well as Vetmedin (Pimobendan) to help his heart function. He’ll need to be retested for heartworm in six months. He hasn’t met cats, but based on his temperament, we believe he’d do well with a dog-friendly cat. In fact, Louie is often described as a “cat dog” due to his independence and low activity needs. Louie is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $250. Ready to give this mellow gentleman the cozy home he deserves?
