My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!I have lived with cats in my previous home.Penguin is a somewhat shy, possibly slightly under-socialized kitten who was on top of the den, appearing concerned, and shrank back from touch. However, she allowed petting with the scratcher tool and then with the assessor's hand. When offered squeeze-up treats, she jumped off the den and came forward. She was still a little reluctant to be pet but allowed it, and also allowed a partial pick-up. Once the door was shut, she remained at the front.Penguin tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.
