APOLLO YELLOW NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Apollo Yellow and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (7/12) from 12-2 pm at the Petco in Bailey's Crossroads (5825 Leesburg Pike, Bailey's Crossroads, VA 22041)!   Name:  Apollo Yellow            Best Guess for Breed:  Retriever/Terrier      Best Guess for Age:  4 months as of July 2025         SEX:  Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  14.6 lbs as of June 2025   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. He currently lives with both a dog and cat and loves them both!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.   You can follow Apollo Yellow along in his foster care adventures on Instagram @arabellankirasfosterpups   Special Adoption Considerations:   Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Apollo Yellow is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Apollo Yellow! Me and my littermates, Aladdin Indigo, Abby Blue, Angus Red, Angie Orange, & Amy Violet, have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! Most of my siblings have found there forever home, but I'm still looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Apollo Yellow is a sweet and goofy pup.  He is very food motivated , so it is the fastest way to winning his heart. Now he follows me everywhere, like a loyal little shadow.  He loves to hang out on the couch with our resident cat or follow our dog around outside like the curious little explorer he is. Apollo Yellow also loves to run in the yard, so my guess is when he is old enough, he would make a great running partner. One of his other favorite outdoor activities is “splooting” in the grass while taking in all the smells.  It’s basically his version of meditation.  Toys are also a big hit—especially the squeaky ones. If a toy squeaks, you might get to hear the most adorable little puppy “arooo” in response. He has otherwise been a quiet house guest. He also loves to play tug with his humans. After a play session, it's always time for a quick snooze. At night, he’s also a good boy in his crate—he goes in without a fuss and settles quietly. In the morning, he is all tail wags when it is time to come out and start his day. Apollo Yellow is a genuinely sweet boy with a gentle soul. He’s asked for a forever home where he can be with his people, get lots of treats, snuggle time and continue being his goofy, affectionate self.  Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than September 19. 2025. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
