This little girl is very timid and currently working through deep fears rooted in her past. She’s still learning that people can be kind and the world can be safe—but what she needs most is time, patience, and a loving home where she can begin to trust at her own pace.Because Betty is so fearful, she may benefit greatly from having another confident dog in the home to serve as a calming presence and gentle role model. She finds comfort in the company of other dogs, and watching them navigate the world helps her feel a little more brave each day.Betty is not ready to be the life of the party—but with a calm, understanding environment and a family that truly sees her for who she is, she has the potential to blossom in quiet, beautiful ways. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
