My story

Can we agree this is one gorgeous pup? Meet CARMELO, a beautiful mixed breed puppy looking for a home. We're told his parents were a cocker spaniel mix and a beagle. He's currently 4 months old, born 2/18/25, and weighs 15 pounds. We expect him to remain in the small/medium range when fully grown, maybe 30-35 pounds. Carmelo is a sweet silly puppy.  He is brimming with puppy energy.  He loves toys and is very food motivated. His adopter must be prepared to do some training work to insure Carmelo grows up to be a well-mannered family member. We prefer to send puppies to homes where they won't be left alone for long hours on end. Carmelo would love a home with another playful dog. If you'd like to meet Carmelo, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Carmelo at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
