This beautiful girl is a bit timid when first meeting new people or exploring new environments, but beneath that initial shyness is a truly gentle and loving soul.She’s the kind of dog who watches the world carefully, taking things in at her own pace. Whiskey would benefit from having another confident dog in the home—one who can show her the ropes and help her feel safe and supported as she continues to learn that the world is not so scary after all. She finds comfort in canine companionship and is much more at ease when she has a doggy friend nearby.Once she begins to trust, Whiskey’s sweet personality starts to shine. She is soft, quiet, and endearing. She may not rush into your lap, but she’ll slowly make her way there, and the reward of earning her trust is truly special.Whiskey is looking for a calm, patient home that understands that some dogs just need a little extra time and encouragement to bloom. With kindness, routine, and a gentle hand, Whiskey is sure to become the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for.****Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
