Velvet

My story

Velvet is a sweet, goofy pup with a heart as big as his paws. At just 10 months old, this Cane Corso is still learning the world is a safe place. He’s fearful of strangers at first—but once you earn his trust, he becomes a total lovebug who’ll smother you in kisses and flop right onto your lap (personal space? Never heard of it). He’s got a high energy level and loves food puzzles, snuffle mats, chew toys, and following his person around like a shadow. Velvet is very affectionate and can be a bit needy—but in the most endearing way. He’s great on leash, mostly house-trained (just needs a little consistency), and sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate (even if he grumbles about going in). Velvet is currently recovering from cherry eye surgery and doing well! The only photos we have of him right now are from before his surgery—but we’ll be sharing more once he’s healed and looking (and feeling) his best. He’s good with other dogs (he previously lived with one) and doesn’t react to dogs on walks, though he might bark at them from the car. He knows several commands—though he can be a little stubborn about following them—and is still learning new ones as he heals. If you’re patient, loving, and ready to help a young pup blossom, Velvet will reward you with loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of snuggles.
