My story

Hello! My name is JACKO (although they call me "Junior" here in Mexico) and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Terrier Mix Age: 9 months approx. Gender: Male Weight: 12 lbs (5.5 kgs) (I may reach 15-18 lbs fully grown) Current Location: Mexico City RESCUE STORY - I was found along with my littermates when we were three months old. We had been separated from our mama and were roaming the streets. I was soo skinny and dirty and had fleas. Fortunately, I was rescued right away and was otherwise a healthy boy! I got the love and care I needed and I'm super uber ready to find my loving forever home!  TEMPERAMENT - I am an enthusiastic puppy! I get along with all dogs although I love to play with humans more than doggos, hehe. I LOVE belly rubs and cuddles... even from strangers (kids included!). I go to the dog park daily and am well socialized. I haven't shown any resource guarding or aggressive behaviours towards doggos at the shelter (video) or at the dog park. I am looking for a family who is ready for all things puppy! I have lots of energy and am a true terrier at heart. I will need to learn all the standard good doggo manners-- I haven't had the one on one attention needed to learn the basics yet. I'm a super smart boy though, so I'm sure I'll learn quick!   ENERGY LEVEL - High - I'm a true terrier puppy, through and through! I will need daily vigorous exercise/play time along with lots of mental stimulation. Once my brain and body are sufficiently exercised, I am ready to sleep and cuddle! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yup! Check out my video. Because I am a young puppy, I think I'd do best in a home with older children; as I may jump up or nip occasionally when I'm excited (at least until I learn some proper manners) Dogs –  Yup! I get along well with the other dogs at the shelter and the dog park and love to play! I've met some other dogs on leash too (video) Cats – We think so! Check out my video. I don't show any aggression towards the cat, however I am interested in his presence. Proper introductions to cats living in my home and ongoing management would be the key to success :) PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – As you can see from my video... my leash skills are a work in progress. I'm looking for an adopter who will show me the ropes and teach me how to be a superstar on leash. I'm just a young pup and havent' learned leash manners very well- I'm super curious of new smells and sights and I love to stop and say hi to people. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help me be successful!  House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm and Brucellosis before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD ($750 + 5% GST & 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2431132##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt JACKO, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
