My story

What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? Kiwi came to us after her previous home sadly fell apart. Through no fault of her own, she needed a fresh start—and she’s handled the transition with grace and optimism. Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? Kiwi's favorite person is anyone who will play with her or feed her! She’s an equal opportunity love-bug who bonds quickly with anyone showing her attention, snacks, or a good game of fetch. Are you good with kids? What age ranges? Yes! Kiwi adores children and is gentle and playful with all ages. She especially loves playing catch with school-aged kids and soaking up all the belly rubs they offer. Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here. Absolutely. Kiwi does great with both male and female dogs in her foster home. She plays well, shares toys, and has shown no signs of resource guarding. She’d be a great fit for a home with another friendly pup to romp with. Are you good with cats? Yes! Kiwi is respectful of her foster sibling cats. She shows curiosity but no aggression or excessive interest. Are you housebroken? What is your current potty routine? Yes, Kiwi is fully potty trained. She goes out on a regular routine in the morning, after meals, and before bedtime, and has not had any accidents in the house. Do you like car rides? Yes! Kiwi enjoys car rides and settles in quickly once on the road. Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? Kiwi LOVES walks and has wonderful leash manners. She walks politely without pulling and enjoys sniffing around and staying close by your side. Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? Yes! Kiwi is a playful pup and loves playing catch. Fetch is her absolute favorite game—tennis balls are life! Do you know any commands/tricks? Yes! Kiwi knows "sit," "kennel," and "out" and is eager to learn more—especially when snacks are involved. How are your house manners? Excellent! Kiwi is respectful indoors, kennel trained, and doesn’t get into things she shouldn’t. She understands boundaries and listens well. Describe your personality: Kiwi is the perfect mix of sweet and spunky. She’s energetic, affectionate, and always ready to play—but she also loves cuddling up after a long walk. She’s social, loyal, and eager to please. Describe your perfect home: Kiwi would thrive in an active home that can match her youthful energy. She’d love a fenced yard to run in, a dog sibling to play with, or a human best friend who will throw the ball for hours. Whether it’s with a family, a couple, or a single person, Kiwi just wants a home full of love, play, and belly rubs. Kiwi is fostered in Sioux City!!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kiwi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
