My story

If George Clooney had a spirit animal, it would be our handsome boy Baker, a shiny copper doxie whose salt-n-pepper highlights turbocharge his movie star looks. Out of the shelter and feeling his oats, Baker is a busy flirt who gets along with other dogs and socializes easily with friendly humans. He’s got plenty of energy and a yen for exploration – just a swinging elder with a passion for the open road, as long as it leads to and from a forever home. Here's some notes from his foster: Baker is just the perfect little pooch! I've had the pleasure of hosting him for 6 days now and he continues to be the perfect little houseguest. He is reliably house trained and relieves himself as soon as we get outside, he even has a favorite tree! I take him out 3-4 times a day so easy outside access or frequent walkies is key. He is a voracious eater and takes his meds in pill pockets with gusto! He is always close by whenever the humans are eating so I wouldn't advise leaving any food within reach of this little dude. Baker sleeps through the night in his little condo and has even started putting himself to bed and letting me know it's time to join him by giving little barky grunts, it's really cute! We wake up pretty early, 7ish and go outside right away for a quick pee then back in for breakfast, this seems to work really well for him. He is a speedy little walker and really enjoys being outside meeting neighbors (human and pooch) and will thrive in a social setting where he can meet lots of other dogs and people and have a lot of mental stimulation. He enjoys treat puzzles and LOVES to play with stuffed toys! He would probably do really well having a doggie sibling as he doesn't love being alone (no barking, just pacing/whining/fretting for about 15-20 mins before settling) and I think having a furry companion to snuggle with will help him settle more quickly. He wants desperately to befriend my cat but the cat's just not that into him, LOL! I can't say enough good things about Baker, he's just a great little guy!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Baker 13065, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
