My story

Million Dollar Baby—aka Baby—has already lived up to her name. This resilient little girl has been through more in her first 5 months than most dogs ever will, and yet she greets the world with a quiet strength and a spark of hope in her eyes. Baby is currently recovering from secondary nutritional hyperparathyroidism, a condition caused by a long-term lack of proper nutrition. This has resulted in multiple bone fractures (including all four limbs and several ribs), but under loving care, she's already showing signs of healing and gaining strength. You can read more about her condition here: VCA Animal Hospitals: Nutritional Secondary Hyperparathyroidism Baby needs a calm, compassionate foster or adopter who can continue her medication routine, leg stretches several times each day, and give her a soft, padded space to rest and heal. She has limited mobility so will need to be carried outside to potty but she keeps her puppy pen clean in her current foster home! She’ll have a recheck with the vet around October 22, 2025, and her care team will guide you on the next steps, including physical therapy.
