My story

Meet Lumen – your new cuddly buddy with movie star looks! Lumen is a 5-year-old beauty with striking smoke tabby markings and an even more beautiful personality. She’s incredibly sweet, friendly, and absolutely adores being around her people. She might be a little shy at first and may choose a quiet spot to settle in—but once she feels safe, her loving and affectionate nature shines through. Lumen is the queen of Netflix and chill and loves curling up in her foster mom’s lap for a cozy night in. She enjoys being carried around, watching the world go by from a sunny window, and chatting with her humans—yes, she’s a talker who loves to tell you all about her day! Lumen has lived peacefully with other cats and tolerates a calm dog, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only companion—as long as she’s near her favorite people. She does have a history of asthma, likely related to a past upper respiratory infection. It’s not currently an issue—just something to be aware of as she continues to thrive in a low-stress, loving home. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion with movie-star looks, Lumen is ready to steal your heart. Lumen is currently in a foster home. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
