My story

Meet Rio, a sweet, and friendly dog. She's a big quiet girl that is so tender and loving. She has a gentle soul, always ready to cuddle up for a nap. This sweet girl is housetrained, crate trained, and full of charm. She’s a true social butterfly who loves meeting new people and making friends wherever she goes. Rio is very smart and eager to please, but she’ll still benefit from some basic training to help her thrive in a home setting. With her affectionate nature and outgoing personality, Rio would make a wonderful companion for someone ready to give her the love and guidance she deserves. She's also a mother, having had a litter of puppies, showing her nurturing side. Despite her past, Rio has remained loving and trusting. She's the kind of dog who would make your house feel like a home. Rio is currently undergoing treatments for heartworm disease. Until she has completed her treatments and is fully recovered, Rio is available for adoption only in the Atlanta area; She must be able to come to Furkids' shelter for treatments. Rio weighs 49lbs and is approximately 3 years old (est. birth date 06/10/2022). Rio has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
